i see stars wearable art

2008 has heralded a change in creative focus, where I have turned my attention from felt-making and teaching to clothing design.

‘Mundarra’ – is a clothing range that I created with my good friend, Kate Horne, just over 2 years ago.

We set out reconstructing jumpers for ourselves and for friends, and then supplied a few local stores (OK, boutiques)

There is something very special about the way Kate & I work together. It is a left-hand, right-hand kind of thing. When we come together in the creative process, our minds become one. A lot of what we do is unspoken, it is totally intuitive. We completely share the same creative vision, so it’s a really easy relationship.

Creating stuff together is extremely rewarding, we have lots of laughs, and manage to solve the world’s problems along the way.

In February, 2008, we launched our new range of recycled and reconstructed garments for the enviro-friendly art-lover, at In.cube8r gallery, 321 Smith Street, Collingwood.

The range has been really warmly received by kind people who seem to like what we create. My aim now is to further develop the clothing and accessory lines, and expand our supply chain.

And, of course, I will always keep making other stuff along the way, responding to whatever grabs me at the time, making stuff ‘just for stuff’s sake’.
